Vijay Kumar has over fifteen years of senior management and corporate operations experience working directly with chief executives of public and private companies. She has held senior positions in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.

For the previous two years, Ms. Kumar was chief executive of VRK Consulting, Inc., where she focused on assisting clients expand their business through global partnerships and strategic alliances, while strengthening their corporate social mark. She simultaneously founded “GlobalConnect,” a private forum designed to bring together members of varying cultural and professional backgrounds to participate in engaging dialogue and exchange of ideas while broadening their social and business networks.

Prior to 2009, Ms. Kumar managed the membership of The Hudson New York Briefing Council for Hudson Institute, a nonpartisan public policy think tank based in Washington D.C. The Council has raised significant levels of funding for philanthropic endeavors since its inception in 2003.

Born and raised in Manhattan, Ms. Kumar attended Hunter College Elementary School and is a graduate of Stern School of Business of New York University, completing post graduate studies in Journalism, Law and Global Affairs, which included an extensive study program in Geneva at the United Nations.  She currently sits on the FOCUS Committee of the International Center of Photography.
