Introduction
The Stanford Wealth Management program is a five day, intellectually rigorous wealth management program. The objective of the program is to help attendees confidently oversee their investment planning, select managers and advisors, consider tax and estate planning vehicles and construct a family governance system. Course offerings include Modern Portfolio Theory, Asset Allocation, Performance Measurement, Behavioral Finance, Hedge Funds and Venture Capital, and Global Investing. Nobel Laureate William Sharpe will teach a class on Choosing Between Passive and Active Investments.

In addition to the core wealth management courses, the program asks attendees to address the purpose of wealth within their lives through two courses: What Is Money For? and Raising Responsible Children in Abundance.

The program allows participants to increase their depth of knowledge in key areas of wealth management while having the unusual chance to learn alongside other individuals with significant wealth. The case studies for the program will be directly related to the wealth management issues that a newly liquid individual may experience.

The Institute for Private Investors
Founded in 1991, IPI is a membership organization of more than 1,000 private investors. Four out of five families oversee $50 million or more, with more than one fourth controlling investable assets of $200 million or more. Importantly, seven out of ten are family members, either the wealth creator or an inheritor. IPI sells no advice or products, and remains a safe harbor for families who value the confidentiality, education and networking of the community. Membership dues and educational fees are the sole revenue source of IPI.

Private investors join IPI to educate themselves to be more sophisticated stewards of their wealth. IPI brings more than 15 years of experience educating private investors to the development of this program.
